Diseño de una propuesta de mejora en el sistema de calefacción del colegio Oxford School, desarrollando una evaluación técnica económica del sistema

Abstract

En la búsqueda constante por mejorar las condiciones de confort y eficiencia energética en entornos educativos, la optimización de sistemas de calefacción emerge como una necesidad fundamental. El presente trabajo se enfoca en el diseño de una propuesta de mejora para el sistema de calefacción del Colegio Oxford School, fusionando aspectos técnicos y económicos para garantizar una solución integral y sostenible. El Colegio Oxford School, reconocido por su excelencia académica y compromiso con la comunidad, enfrenta desafíos inherentes al mantenimiento y funcionamiento de su infraestructura térmica. La ineficiencia energética, los costos operativos elevados y la inconsistencia en la distribución del calor son problemáticas que afectan tanto el bienestar de los estudiantes y el personal como la gestión financiera de la institución. En este contexto, en la presente investigación se propone un diseño de mejora en el sistema de calefacción del Colegio Oxford School, desarrollando una evaluación técnico-económica del sistema. Comenzando por un análisis detallado de sus componentes, rendimiento y consumo energético, buscando identificar áreas de mejora y proponer soluciones innovadoras que maximicen la eficiencia operativa y minimicen los costos asociados. El enfoque integrado de esta tesis abarca aspectos técnicos y económicos, reconociendo la interdependencia entre la viabilidad técnica de las mejoras propuestas y su impacto financiero a largo plazo. Se espera que los resultados obtenidos no solo contribuyan a optimizar el sistema de calefacción del Colegio Oxford School, sino que también sirvan como referencia para otras instituciones educativas que enfrentan desafíos similares en la gestión de sus recursos energéticos. En resumen, esta investigación se sitúa en la intersección entre la ingeniería térmica y la gestión financiera, con el objetivo de proporcionar al Colegio Oxford School y a la comunidad educativa en general, una herramienta efectiva para mejorar las condiciones de confort y eficiencia energética en sus instalaciones.

In the constant search for comfortable conditions and energy efficiency in educational environments, the improvement of heating systems emerges as a fundamental need. This investigation focuses on the design of an improvement proposal for the heating system at Oxford School, merging technical and economic aspects to guarantee an integral and sustainable solution. Oxford School, is recognized for its academic excellence and commitment to the community, facing challenges inherent to the maintenance and operation of its thermal infrastructure. Energy inefficiency, high operating costs and inconsistency in heat distribution are problems that affect the well-being of students and staff, and of course, the financial management of the institution. In this context, this research proposes an improvement design for the heating system of Oxford School, developing a technical-economic evaluation. Iniciating with a detailed analysis of its components, performance and energy consumption, seeking to identify areas of improvement and propose innovative solutions that maximize operational efficiency and minimize associated costs. The integrated approach of this thesis covers technical and economic aspects, recognizing the interdependence between the technical feasibility of the proposed improvements and their long-term financial impact. It is expected that the results obtained will not only contribute to optimizing the Oxford School heating system but will also serve as a reference for other educational institutions that face similar challenges in the management of their energy resources and administrational cost. In summary, this research is focusing on the intersection between thermal engineering and financial management, with the aim of providing to Oxford School and the educational community in general, an effective tool to improve the conditions of comfort and energy efficiency in their facilities.
